All clear given after ‘strange’ smell prompts evacuation of outpatient clinic downtown

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Hazmat crews have cleared the scene after a ‘strange’ smell prompted the evacuation of an outpatient center across the street from Spectrum Health downtown late Tuesday morning. The smell was reported around 11:30 a.m. at 330 Barclay Avenue NE, which is the Helen DeVos Children’s Outpatient Center.
